Thule Sprint Roof Bike Racks Review - 2010 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen

Today on our 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sport Wagon we'll be doing a quick test fit of the Thule Sprint Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number Th528. With a Rhino-Rack Vortex Roof Rack System installed onto our roof, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's crossbars. Starting at the front here, we'll loosen up this speed link lever so that we can bring the rubber coated steel strap around the bar and hook it into the connection point. Then moving to the rear, we'll adjust the rear bracket as necessary, and then again bring the rubber coated steel strap around the underside of the bar. With both straps hooked in place, we'll then tighten down the speed link levers, which will bring the straps around tightly against the bar. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll loosen up the AccuTight knob at the front, which will extend the skewer outward. more

Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen

Today on our 2011 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down roof-mounted bike rack, part number S64710. With the Thule AeroBlade edge roof rack system assembled to our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Swagman Fork Down directly onto our load bars. Here at the front, we'll want to take our U bolts, bring them around the underside of our load bar, and back up through the platform. Once we have it in place, we can secure it there and tighten it down with the wing nuts. We'll do this for both sides of the front platform. We'll move to the rear and take our U bolt and drop it through the top of the carrier, making sure it goes around our load bar, and then we can feed it through our bracket and tighten in place with our wing nuts. more
